This page describes how Kashogie handles your personal information. Please review it carefully.

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information Kashogie collects when you use our website and apps, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Kashogie is an educational platform that combines an AI-powered math solver with a marketplace connecting parents and tutors. By using the service, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Kashogie, we collect:

  • Account details — your name, email address, and password when you register as a parent, teacher, or student.
  • Child and student profiles — created and managed by parents, including the child’s name, school grade level, and the email used to invite them as a student user.
  • Tutor profiles — the information teachers publish for parents and students to see: subjects taught, rates, availability, experience, and their city/local area. Full street addresses are never displayed publicly on the platform.
  • Verification documents — identity documents, a CV, and academic certificates that teachers submit for review by our admin team as part of tutor verification.
  • Bookings and payments — session schedules, booking details, and transaction records. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers; we do not collect or store your card details.
  • Messages — conversations between parents, teachers, and our support team, including optional images attached to messages.
  • Learning activity — quizzes, quiz attempts and scores, learning progress, and math problems you submit to the AI Math Solver.
  • Blog engagement — comments and likes you leave on blog posts when signed in.
  • Technical and device data — cookies and local storage that keep you signed in and remember your preferences (for example, your light/dark theme choice), your approximate location derived from your IP address (used to suggest tutors near you), and standard security logs.

How We Use Your Information

  • Creating and managing your account and role (parent, teacher, or student).
  • Connecting parents with tutors and running bookings — scheduling, reminders, and session coordination.
  • Processing payments and subscriptions through our payment providers, and keeping records of those transactions.
  • Verifying teacher identity before tutors are listed as verified.
  • Sending you transactional messages such as booking confirmations, session reminders, receipts, and service notices.
  • Providing support when you contact us.
  • Keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, and improving Kashogie.

Cookies and Local Storage

Kashogie uses cookies to keep you signed in to your account and local storage to remember your preferences, such as your chosen theme. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may sign you out or reset your preferences.

Third-Party Services

We rely on trusted third-party services to operate Kashogie:

  • Payment processors — Base44 Payments, Paystack, and Flutterwave process checkouts and subscriptions. When you pay, the provider handles your payment details under its own privacy policy; we store only the resulting transaction records.
  • Email delivery, file storage, AI processing for the Math Solver, and an IP-based location lookup used for nearby-tutor suggestions.

Advertising

If and when advertising (such as Google AdSense) is displayed on this site, advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads personalized based on your visits to this and other websites. You can usually manage personalized advertising through your browser or the advertising provider’s own settings. This section will be updated with specifics once advertising becomes active on Kashogie.

Sharing Your Information

We share your information only as needed to run the service: with the other participant of a booking (for example, a teacher you book sees your name and the session details), with the payment processors and infrastructure services listed above, and when required by law. We never sell your personal information.

Data Retention and Security

We keep your information while your account is active and for as long afterwards as needed — for example, records of payments and bookings. You can delete your account from your Profile Settings, which removes your profile data from the service; some records (such as financial records) may be retained where we are required to keep them.

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s Privacy

Kashogie is designed for parents to manage their children’s learning. Child profiles are created and controlled by parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children outside of parent-managed profiles. If you believe a child’s information has been collected without parental involvement, contact us and we will remove it.

Your Rights and Choices

You can review and update most of your information from your Profile Settings at any time. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, contact us through the Contact page or the email below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the "last updated" date above.
